At the start of the Easter holidays in Saxony, the Central German airports in Leipzig/Halle and Dresden are experiencing brisk air traffic. Between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, a total of 101 passenger aircraft will take off, 65 of which from Leipzig/Halle Airport and 36 from Dresden Airport. The destinations include popular holiday regions on the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Red Sea, as well as European and German metropolises.
At the start of the holiday season, 43 aircraft and 22 scheduled flights will depart from Leipzig/Halle Airport to various holiday destinations. Demand is particularly high for Antalya with 13 departures, Mallorca with ten, and Hurghada with nine. Other holiday destinations in the flight schedule include Las Palmas, Heraklion, Rhodes, Faro, Tenerife, and Fuerteventura. In addition, 19 scheduled flights are offered to major hubs, including twelve Lufthansa connections to Frankfurt. Austrian Airlines serves the Vienna route twice, Turkish Airlines flies to Istanbul three times, and WIZZ Air flies to Tirana and Bucharest once each. These hubs offer numerous onward flight options worldwide. Leipzig/Halle Airport's summer flight schedule includes a total of 29 destinations in 13 countries, served by 27 airlines with up to 222 weekly departures.
Dresden also sees increased flight traffic at the start of the holiday season. 21 scheduled flights and 15 holiday flights depart from here. Antalya is the most popular holiday destination with six departures, followed by Mallorca with five. Two flights each are planned to Hurghada and Heraklion. Lufthansa is the airline with the most departures from Dresden, serving the Frankfurt and Munich hubs nine times a day. SWISS connects Dresden with Zurich twice, and Eurowings flies once to Düsseldorf. Worldwide connecting flights are also possible via the Frankfurt, Munich, and Zurich hubs. Dresden Airport's summer flight schedule offers connections to 14 destinations in seven countries, served by twelve airlines with up to 111 weekly departures.
