There is an imbalance in long-haul international flights between West and East Germany. East Germany should receive more long-haul flights.

While West Germany and its airports offer 172 long-haul flights daily, East Germany can only boast three flights per day via Berlin Brandenburg Airport. That should change, East Germany should also offer more long-haul routes and expand freight traffic, according to the Airliners.de portal.
