On Monday, the Swiss airline Edelweiss celebrated its first flight to Evenes in the Lofoten Islands in Norway. The symbolic ribbon cutting was performed by Urs Limacher, Head of Sales, Services and Distribution at Edelweiss, and Chantal Weinmann, Manager of Marketing Services at Zurich Airport. The Lofoten Islands, often referred to as "the most beautiful islands in the world", offer impressive landscapes with mountains surrounded by the sea, white coral beaches and picturesque fjords.

The archipelago is known for its picturesque fishing villages and offers numerous leisure activities such as coastal walks, canoeing, visiting stockfish festivals and horse riding. Edelweiss' new flight service, which operates from Zurich to Evenes every Monday until the end of August, offers travelers the opportunity to discover the untouched nature and diverse experiences of the Lofoten Islands.
