The Swiss airline Edelweiss is beginning to gradually adapt its aircraft fleet to a modernized design. The changeover will take place as new Airbus A350s are introduced into the fleet and is to be completed over several years during regular maintenance cycles. On Saturday evening, the first aircraft in the new livery, an Airbus A320 (HB-JJL), landed in Zurich. The aircraft had previously been repainted in Norwich, Great Britain.
The modernized design retains key elements of the previous design, including the characteristic red nose and the stylized edelweiss flower on the tail fin. What is new is a modified line that extends the red color further across the fuselage, creating a more dynamic appearance. The tail fin remains a distinctive identifying feature, but now shows the edelweiss flower with finer contours.
The adjustment of the external appearance is intended to improve the visual harmony across the entire fleet. Edelweiss wants to create a more uniform brand image, particularly with regard to the introduction of the new Airbus A350. The Airbus A320 fleet will be gradually converted to the new design, with the timeframe aligned with the aircraft's maintenance schedules.
