Embraer struggles with delivery delays, but remains among its larger competitors

Like many of its competitors, Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer is facing challenges from global supply chain issues that are affecting the delivery times of its aircraft.

Antonio Carlos Garcia, Embraer's CFO, recently confirmed that there are delivery delays of around one to two months. However, compared to the larger manufacturers Boeing and Airbus, where delays can sometimes be over a year, Embraer's situation is relatively mild. Garcia stressed that the company only accepts orders that it can fulfill in order to avoid major delays.

Embraer reported a $21,1 billion order backlog at the beginning of the year, boosted by numerous orders for regional and private jets. Significant orders include American Airlines' order for 90 Embraer E175s and Mexicana de Aviacion's order for 20 E2 jets.
