Emirates discontinues Singapore-Melbourne route

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Emirates will discontinue its service between Singapore and Melbourne to avoid high competition on the route.

Passengers will be rebooked on flights operated by partner airline Qantas. The airline is also seeking to be released from existing capacity obligations imposed by the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) in 2013. Emirates has operated the EK404/405 route since 1996, but plans to discontinue it permanently following a decision by the CCCS. Other airlines, such as Singapore Airlines, Qantas, and Jetstar, continue to offer numerous flights between Singapore and Melbourne.
