The People's Republic of China has further relaxed entry requirements effective August 30, 2023. It is no longer necessary to present a negative PCR test. This means we are returning to the conditions that applied before the pandemic.

The special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau had already abolished the requirement to present negative PCR tests. Now the People's Republic of China is following suit. The entry regulations that applied before the pandemic now apply again. It should also be noted that, depending on your citizenship, you must apply for a visa in advance at the relevant foreign mission (embassy and/or consulate). If you needed a visa, this was already the case before the pandemic.
