Eurowings introduces new “Priority Boarding”

Advertising

The Lufthansa-Daughter Eurowings has, following the introduction of a new boarding concept at the beginning of April, an additional product called “Priority boardingThis new offer allows travelers to be part of the Gruppe 1 to board earlier and take their seats before the regular boarding process begins for other passengers. This aims to make boarding more convenient for certain customer groups and optimize the process at the gate.

The new "Priority Boarding" service can be added during the original booking via the Eurowings website and app, or even subsequently. The cost for this service starts at seven euros. Eurowings points out that this offer is limited and only available on select flights. A key requirement for booking "Priority Boarding" is that a large piece of hand luggage must already be included in the original flight booking. This ensures that those travelers who wish to benefit from this service also use the necessary luggage space.

Travelers of the We Class as well as status customers of the Lufthansa Group, such as Hon Circle Member or Senators, receive the "Priority Boarding" service automatically included in their fare. For these passengers, early boarding is therefore an integral part of their premium service. The introduction of such additional services is common practice in the aviation industry to meet different customer needs and generate additional revenue.

With this move, Eurowings is following a trend seen among many airlines, offering travelers more flexibility and convenience for an additional fee. It remains to be seen how the new "Priority Boarding" will be received by customers and what impact it will have on the entire boarding process.
