Wolfgang Grimus and Jürgen Löschnig, the managing directors of Graz Airport, expressed their delight at the success of the event: "The Graz Airport Run is always one of the highlights of the year for us, as the enthusiasm of the runners is consistently high. We consider it a special privilege that we can also support such an important charitable institution as the Sterntalerhof with the run." Around 800 participants took part in the run, which was held on a 5,8-kilometer course in close proximity to the airport's runways and taxiways.
The Sterntalerhof is a children's and family hospice that, under the motto "New strength, new courage, and new confidence," accompanies families with children suffering from life-shortening illnesses on their difficult journey. The hospice's entire work is funded exclusively through donations. Harald Jankovits, Managing Director of the Sterntalerhof, emphasized the enormous importance of such initiatives: "Every euro raised through this run is important, as we finance all of our work for seriously ill children and their families exclusively through donations." Furthermore, the media attention generated by the run is invaluable in raising awareness of the hospice's mission and mobilizing further support.
