The government of the Galapagos Islands has announced that from August 2024 the so-called national park fee will be doubled from 100 to 200 US dollars. According to their own information, they are turning the price screw for the first time in 26 years.

The measure is also being implemented because the number of tourists has increased massively and the aim is to use the fee to curb the environmental impact of mass tourism. Persons aged 12 and over must pay US$2024 per arrival in the Galapagos Islands immediately upon arrival from August 200. So far you have to pay 100 US dollars.
