Graz sees itself prepared for mandatory PCR

Austria's Minister of Health Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens) wants people who want to travel on non-stop flights from the Netherlands, Cyprus and Spain to undergo a mandatory PCR test, but only if neither a full vaccination nor a PCR test Findings are available. Graz Airport is well prepared.

Managing director Wolfgang Grimus told the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation that around 600 people from Amsterdam and Palma de Mallorca arrive in Graz every week. In his opinion, however, only a small fraction of the travelers would be affected by the mandatory test planned by Mückstein. The reason for this is that many people are already fully vaccinated or already bring a valid report with them from abroad.

It is still unclear how the tests will run. Grimus points out that you already have a station at the airport and could use this infrastructure. However, should the authority want a different solution, a certain lead time is required. However, Grimus assumes that the PCR tests will be carried out at the existing location between departure and arrival.
