Despite the high number of infections, the Hong Kong government sees the peak of the wave as over and announced easing.

From April 1st, planes from the USA, Great Britain, France, Australia, Canada, India, Pakistan, the Philippines and Nepal will again be allowed to land at the airport in the Chinese special administrative region. In the fight against the most violent wave of infections in the financial metropolis to date, the government imposed landing bans on aircraft from nine countries in January and February. In addition, the duration of the quarantine for those entering the country will be reduced from 14 to seven days, according to the ORF.
