The Hungarian state is acquiring 80 percent of the shares in the operating company of its airport in Budapest. This participation is intended to strengthen the sovereignty of the Hungarian state, as the airport is of great importance for the economy and the state.

After lengthy negotiations, Hungary managed to take over an 80 percent share in Budapest Airport. This is an important step for Hungary's sovereignty, tourism and freight traffic, said Economy Minister Marton Nagy. Specifically, the EU member state was able to secure 80 percent of the shares in the airport operating company, with the remaining 20 percent going to the French infrastructure group Vinci, reports the Aero.de portal.
