Icelandair has announced that the airline will use the Airbus A10LR on its routes from December 2024, 321. The first flight will be to Copenhagen, followed by connections to London, Oslo and Stockholm.

From June 1 to the end of August 2025, the Airbus A321LR will also fly to Berlin, with further flights planned to Zurich from mid-September. There will also be irregular flights to Munich. These new aircraft are part of Icelandair's modernization strategy, which will also integrate Airbus aircraft into its fleet in the future. The airline has also signed a contract for up to 25 A321XLRs, which will join the fleet from 2025.

The A321LR, a long-range version of the A321, offers a longer range of up to 7.400 kilometers and will replace the current Boeing 757 aircraft. With the introduction of these models, Icelandair aims to reduce operating costs and support the airline's sustainability goals.
