Icelandair and Portuguese airline TAP signed a new codeshare agreement on October 14, 2024 to deepen their long-standing partnership. The signing took place at Lisbon Airport. This agreement will allow passengers of both airlines to travel across the entire network with just one ticket, with baggage checked all the way to their destination.

Icelandair serves around 60 destinations in Europe and North America, while TAP has an extensive route network with 90 destinations in Europe, Africa and South America. Both airlines are known for their stopover programs, which allow travelers to make a stopover in the respective airline's home country during their flight at no additional cost. The new codeshare partnership will come into effect in the coming weeks.

Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair, emphasized that code sharing improves the connectivity of both airlines and offers travelers new opportunities. Luís Rodrigues, CEO of TAP, also expressed a positive opinion and sees the partnership as an enrichment of the offer for customers.
