In September 2024, Icelandair carried approximately 458.000 passengers, an increase of 10% compared to the same month last year.

Particularly striking is the airline's punctuality rate, which reached 86,6%, the highest since 2009. This significant improvement of 5,6 percentage points compared to the previous year is seen as the result of efficiency measures and the commitment of the Icelandair team.

Of the travelers, 31% flew to Iceland, 16% from Iceland, 48% used Iceland as a transit and 5% traveled within the country. Since the beginning of 2024, Icelandair has transported a total of 3,6 million passengers, an increase of 8% compared to the previous year.

In the coming year, Icelandair plans to further expand its route network, including the introduction of flights to Nashville, Tennessee, and Lisbon, Portugal. A partnership with Southwest Airlines was also announced, which will strengthen Icelandair's international partner network and offer passengers more destination options.
