InterCaribbean Airways put its first ATR72-500 into scheduled service at the end of August. The sub-fleet is to be expanded to ten copies.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the company had acquired seven Tarom ATR turboprop aircraft. Two former Villa Air machines have also been taken over. With the VQ-THW, the first unit was put into regular service.

The carrier plans to replace the aging Embraer 2023 turboprop aircraft by the end of 120. The used ATR42/72 serve as successors.
