The coffee provider Julius Meinl has successfully completed its first international barista competition.

The winner of the competition, which took place on September 19, 2024 at the Vienna headquarters, is Raffy Vajio from the United Arab Emirates. Vajio, head barista at the Atlantis The Royal hotel in Dubai, convinced the jury with his coffee art and passion. In addition to him, other baristas, including Mario Benetseder from Austria, were also able to win prizes in various categories.

In total, baristas from 12 countries took part in the competition, in which they prepared Julius Meinl's "Belvedere Blend". The participants were judged in the categories of espresso, cappuccino and signature drink. The competition is part of Julius Meinl's commitment to quality and innovation in the coffee sector. In January 2024, the winners will travel to Honduras to learn about sustainable coffee cultivation.
