The Kitzbühel Film Festival kicks off the summer of 2025 with a diverse open-air cinema program, promising film enjoyment under the open sky at special locations. From June to August, film enthusiasts can experience the magic of cinema in the city park, at the drive-in cinema at the Fleckalmbahn car park, and on the sun terrace at the Kitzbüheler Horn. Markus Mörth, festival director of the Kitzbühel Film Festival, emphasized the aim of bringing people together and creating unforgettable film experiences.

The "Comedy in the City" kicks off on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in Kitzbühel City Park with the Austrian-German film "80 PLUS" by Sabine Hiebler and Gerhard Ertl. Actress Margarethe Tiesel will be present; admission to the film's premiere at 21:00 p.m. is free. On July 11 and 12, 2025, the Fleckalmbahn car park will be transformed into a drive-in cinema. On Friday, July 11, James Mangold's "Like A Complete Unknown," about Bob Dylan's early years, will be shown. For the second evening, on July 12, the film festival's Facebook community will vote on the film to be shown. Admission to the drive-in cinema is €28 per car (two people).

Another edition of "Comedy in the City" will follow on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, with the film classic "Twelve Girls and a Man" (1959) by Hans Quest, starring Toni Sailer. This screening is a cinematic birthday greeting for Sailer's 90th birthday and will take place in front of the Hotel Das Reisch, which will also be providing catering. The film also starts at 21:00 p.m. and admission is free. The summer series concludes on Friday, August 22, 2025, with the "Cinema on the Mountain" on the sun terrace of the Alpenhaus on the Kitzbüheler Horn at 1.670 meters above sea level. The film shown remains a surprise. The cable car runs until 20:00 p.m., and a shuttle takes visitors back to the valley after the film. Admission, including the shuttle, costs 21 euros; admission with the ascent is 36 euros. The 13th Kitzbühel Film Festival itself will take place from November 25 to 30, 2025 and will be the stage for the “KURIER ROMY” for the first time.
