Klagenfurt Airport Night Run enters the second round – Running for a good cause

On 6 September 2025, the runway at Klagenfurt Airport will once again be transformed into a spectacular running track: The Klagenfurt Airport Night Run is entering its second edition following its successful premiere last year. With a maximum of 1.500 starting places, ticket sales begin immediately. The event promises a unique running experience on the airport's illuminated apron and runway.

In cooperation with the initiative "Promote Health, Move Carinthia" of the State of Carinthia and Antenne Kärnten, participants are offered a special event. Starting at 21:00 PM, running and exercise enthusiasts can complete the approximately 1,5-kilometer route in 5,5 hours, either running or walking. The focus is on the fun of exercise and the shared experience, not on achieving the best time. While the times of all participants will be measured and listed in categories, the main prizes will be raffled off via a race number raffle. A key feature of the run is its charitable purpose: all net proceeds from the event go to Carinthian Cancer Aid benefit.

State Councilor Beate Prettner described the Airport Night Run as the culmination of her initiative "Promoting Health, Moving Carinthia." She emphasized that the event is more than just a run; it stands for exercise, community, and solidarity. State Governor Martin Gruber expressed his delight at the new edition following last year's great success and invited participants to experience the airport from a different perspective and combine sport with a good cause. Maximilian Wildt, Managing Director of Klagenfurt Airport, emphasized that the Night Run moves people, connects them, and simultaneously does good.

After the sporting part, the event will end with a After-Run Party, organized by Antenne Kärnten, continues directly in and outside the airport terminal. This offers a unique atmosphere with music and entertainment. The registration fee is €29,00, and the first 750 registrations will receive a starter bag with goodies. Klagenfurt Airport is an important transport hub for Carinthia and offers year-round connections, including Austrian Airlines to Vienna, as well as seasonal flights with SkyAlps to Hanover, Eurowings to Cologne, and Ryanair to London Stansted, Alicante, and Palma de Mallorca.
