After Austrian Airlines withdraws from ground handling in Klagenfurt and Salzburg, the services previously provided by AUA will be taken over by Avisafe, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the airport, in Carinthia. There is good news for the airline's employees at this location: they will be taken over by the transfer of operations.

However, according to Austrian Airlines, the corresponding negotiations in Salzburg have failed. The carrier offers that these can be transferred to Vienna. Things look much better in Klagenfurt, because the AUA ground handling employees there receive an offer that they can switch to Avisafe by transferring operations and thus continue their job at the same location under the same conditions. 18 Austrian Airlines employees are affected.

“As managing director, it is important to me to secure jobs at the airport even in these difficult times. The AUA team at the Klagenfurt site is part of the airport family and I am all the more pleased that we were able to negotiate with Austrian Airlines the possibility of the AUA ground crew staying at the site, ”said Klagenfurt airport director Nils Witt.

The aim of Airport Klagenfurt is to create a further improvement in the range of services for passengers in all areas. The AUA employees will play an important role in this in the future. After the current talks have been concluded, it will be clear by mid-December how many of the AUA employees will transfer to Avisafe and thus strengthen the Airport Klagenfurt team in the future.
