The low-cost airline Wizz Air will be flying to Bucharest and Tirana from Leipzig/Halle this year.

From June 20, 2024, Wizz Air plans to offer the Leipzig/Halle – Bucharest connection on Thursdays and Sundays. Flights between Leipzig/Halle and Tirana will be offered from September 30, 2024. The carrier connects central Germany with the Albanian capital every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Götz Ahmelmann, CEO of Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG: “We are pleased that WIZZ Air is returning to Leipzig/Halle Airport in 2024 and will be offering services to two Eastern European capitals, Bucharest and Tirana. This decision makes us optimistic for the future and shows that the offering from Central Germany is becoming more diverse.”
