The Polish airline LOT Polish Airlines launched its new, year-round flight service from its Warsaw hub to Malta on April 16, 2025. The route will operate four times a week and offers travelers flexible flight times. This new connection is intended to provide convenient access to the Maltese archipelago for both direct travelers and passengers from other regions with a transfer in Warsaw.

According to Michal Fijol, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines, Malta's historical heritage, clear waters, and mild climate make it an attractive year-round destination. The new flights are intended to enable guests from all over the world to discover the island's unique charm. Travelers from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland will particularly benefit from convenient connecting flights via Warsaw, reducing the total travel time from Hamburg, for example, to approximately five and a half hours and from Berlin to just under five and three-quarters hours.

Malta offers a wide variety of attractions, including the capital city of Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its historic buildings. Among the most important sights are St. John's Co-Cathedral, the Grand Master's Palace, and the Upper Barrakka Gardens. The island of Gozo, with its impressive coastal scenery and the red sand beach of Ramla Bay, as well as the traditional fishing village of Marsaxlokk, are also popular destinations. The new flight service operated by LOT Polish Airlines is being welcomed by Alan Borg, CEO of Malta International Airport, as a strengthening of Malta's connectivity and, according to Carlo Micaleff, CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority, opening up additional options for tourism, including business travel.
