Lufthansa: B747-8i makes hard landing in Los Angeles

A Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Los Angeles experienced a “bumpy landing” at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), as captured live on camera by Airline Videos. The Boeing 747-8i, registration D-ABYP, attempted to land but veered off the runway, prompting a second landing attempt after circling the airport.

Flight LH456 on April 23, 2024, classified as a “training flight,” carried 326 passengers and 19 crew members. After an assessment and consultation, the aircraft returned to Frankfurt, where it was inspected and no abnormalities were found. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
