The youngest offshoot of the Lufthansa Group, City Airlines, will begin operations in the 2024 summer flight schedule. Now they are looking for flying personnel and are looking for both pilots and flight attendants. Cabin crew courses will begin in the new year.

City Airlines was founded as a copy of Lufthansa Cityline and is intended to take over numerous feeder routes. First of all, the Airbus A319 will be launched. In the medium term, the plan is to switch to either the A220 or the E2 series. The Kranich Group has not yet made a final decision in this regard.

“We are getting started and are creating prospects for new and experienced colleagues with attractive working conditions in Germany,” says Jens Fehlinger, operational managing director of City Airlines. “Our guests on board can look forward to a dedicated team and a flight experience with proven Lufthansa quality on their flights with City Airlines.”

The company wants to accept both external and internal applications. There should be voluntary change offers within the Lufthansa Group. The exact details are still being negotiated with the unions. City Airlines has had an AOC and operating license since June 2023. Commercial flight operations have not yet started. There is currently an Airbus A319 registered on the certificate. From summer 2024, Lufthansa will be operating feeder services to/from Munich and Frankfurt am Main.
