Lufthansa Technik begins training German Navy technicians to maintain the new P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft.

Training takes place through hands-on and on-the-job training to prepare Marines to maintain the P-8A. Lufthansa Technik uses its many years of expertise in supporting Boeing 737 aircraft, which the P-8A is based on.

The training courses are carried out in collaboration with partner companies such as SunExpress and include practical experience in line maintenance as well as intensive training in Hungary to carry out complex maintenance work. The early retraining of personnel allows the German Navy to gain experience before the first P-8As are delivered. The initiative is supported by Boeing and other partners to provide Poseidon's capabilities and local infrastructure for maintenance.
