From July 4, 2025, Lufthansa will resume the flight connection between Munich and Izmir. The route, which was part of the summer flight schedule until September 2022, will be served five times a week during the summer months until September 14, according to information from the Aeroroutes portal. Lufthansa will use Airbus A320 aircraft for the flights. The decision to offer the popular connection again comes in view of the high demand and the strategic importance of Türkiye as a tourist destination.

Lufthansa will once again connect Izmir, one of the largest cities on the Turkish Aegean, directly with Munich, increasing travel comfort for passengers and benefiting business travelers and tourists in particular. The route will be increased during the summer months to meet seasonal demand.

The resumption of the connection underlines Lufthansa's ongoing efforts to expand and strengthen its flight connections on important routes. The Lufthansa Group last removed the connection from its program in autumn 2022 in order to respond to the changed market conditions during the corona pandemic.
