Advertising

In September of the previous year, the Wieland Aviation Group acquired three C160D "Transalls" that were formerly in service with the German Air Force. In the future, the machines will be used as fire-fighting aircraft.

The first, registration VH-RPR, was seen on 25 August 2023 in transit via Malta, where it flew in from Kiel and continued to Hurghada the following day. The other two C160 will carry the identifiers VH-RFW and VH-TIT. The company intends to convert these aircraft into firefighting water bombers.
