The coming weekend will be dominated by major events in Vienna and Salzburg. An international football match, several trade fairs, and concerts will attract numerous visitors, which will lead to significant traffic disruptions. Drivers should expect traffic jams and longer travel times.
On March 20, Austria and Serbia will face off in a UEFA Nations League match at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna. Increased traffic is expected around the stadium as early as the afternoon. The Südosttangente (A23) and Ostautobahn (A4) are particularly affected. Delays are also expected on Handelskai and the surrounding streets. Temporary road closures are possible.
In addition, two concerts will take place at the Wiener Stadthalle: David Garrett will perform on March 21, and KIZ on March 22. Traffic disruptions are expected before and after the concerts on both days. Parking is limited, so public transportation is recommended.
The Salzburg Motor Show will take place from March 21 to 23. Increased traffic is expected on the access roads. Visitors arriving by public transport will receive a free return ticket.
