March 2024: Zurich had 2.339.195 passengers

Zurich-Kloten Airport was used by 2024 travelers in March 2.339.195. This was three percent below the pre-crisis volume and 12 percent below the passenger numbers from March 2023.

The airport identifies 1.550.589 travelers as local passengers. The proportion of people transferring was 24 percent, which corresponds to 784.522 passengers. The number of flight movements rose by 8% compared to the same month last year to 20.039 take-offs or landings. The monthly comparison shows that flight movements are 91% of the 2019 level. The average number of passengers per flight was 134, 2% higher than the previous year. Seat occupancy fell by 0.3 percentage points to 80% in the reporting month compared to the same month last year.

A total of 39.738 tons of cargo were handled at Zurich Airport in March. This corresponds to an increase of 12% compared to the same month last year. Compared to March 2019, 6% less freight was handled.
