On January 21, 2025, the prestigious MICHELIN stars were awarded during a celebratory event in Hangar 7 in Salzburg. Two restaurants on Lake Wolfgang each received one star: Atelier Fischer in St. Gilgen, led by Stefan Fischer, and the Gourmet Restaurant Paula in St. Wolfgang under the direction of Sebastian Leutgeb. With this award, Lake Wolfgangsee becomes the only star hotspot in the Salzkammergut and underlines the high quality of the regional gastronomy.

The return of the “Guide MICHELIN” as a comprehensive restaurant guide for Austria has further enhanced the culinary scene of Lake Wolfgang. The stars for the Atelier Fischer and Restaurant Paula not only show the international competitiveness of Austrian cuisine, but also how culinary delights are increasingly becoming a central travel motive in tourism. Lake Wolfgang is thus gaining in importance as a gourmet region and is attracting more and more guests interested in culinary delights.

Stefan Fischer, who has already been awarded three toques by Gault&Millau, combines a sophisticated mix of traditional Austrian cuisine and modern, artistic accents in his restaurant. His creations, served on handmade tableware, offer a unique experience for guests. Sebastian Leutgeb, on the other hand, only 28 years old, has made a name for himself with his restaurant Paula achieved great success in just two years. After gaining experience in renowned establishments such as the Hotel Adlon in Berlin and Schloss Fuschl, he returned to Lake Wolfgang to realize his culinary vision.

The culinary highlight of 2025 will be the mundART Festival, which will take place from April 25th to May 4th on Lake Wolfgangsee and will focus on the diversity of the region. Sebastian Leutgeb will also be present at the festival to present his Michelin-starred creations.
