The internet portal stellplatz.info, which records over 12 million page views annually, has recognized Europe's most popular motorhome parking spaces. Of a total of approximately 17.000 sites evaluated in 42 European countries, the top three sites in Bavaria (Panorama & Wellness-Campingplatz Großbüchlberg), Schleswig-Holstein (Wohnmobilstellplatz Utersum on Föhr), and the Netherlands (Camping Janse in Zoutelande) secured the top positions. Germany clearly dominated the ranking: Of the 50 award-winning sites, 35 are located in Germany, followed by Austria with five, Italy with four, the Netherlands with three, Sweden with two, and Switzerland with one spot.

Feedback from guests and operators reveals clear trends in the motorhome industry: Travelers are staying at their campsites longer, the age structure of campers is getting younger, and demands for comfort and digital offerings are noticeably increasing. Many campsite operators are responding to these developments with modern solutions. These include online booking systems, power columns, modern sanitary facilities, free Wi-Fi, app-based services, and self-check-in systems. According to operators, successful campsites also focus on personal service, high levels of cleanliness and friendliness, as well as flexible additional services and personalized communication with their guests.

To ensure the stellplatz.info Award To be shortlisted, the pitches must meet strict criteria: At least 100 reviews on major platforms like Google or Facebook, as well as at least five reviews on stellplatz.info, were required. Furthermore, the required average rating was at least 4,5 out of 5 stars. Based on this, a shortlist of 270 motorhome pitches was created, which were then manually reviewed and finally rated based on authentic guest reviews. The stellplatz.info portal sees itself not only as a source of information for camping holidaymakers, but also as a support for operators of motorhome pitches who regularly face challenges. Over 170 pitches are already actively using the portal's advertising and marketing services.
