At the prestigious Skytrax World Airports Awards 2025, which were presented on April 9 at the “Passenger Terminal Expo” trade fair in Madrid, Munich Airport has once again received the award for “Best Airport in Central Europe”.
In the global rankings of the London-based aviation research institute Skytrax, the Bavarian airport reached ninth place, making it the only German airport to be ranked among the world's top 10. These results are based on a comprehensive passenger survey conducted from August 2024 to February 2025 among travelers from over 100 countries, measuring satisfaction in various aspects of the airport experience.
Jost Lammers, CEO of Munich Airport, expressed his delight at the renewed award and thanked passengers for their positive feedback. He emphasized that this honor recognizes the airport's continuous efforts in terms of customer satisfaction, service quality, and innovative infrastructure. Ninth place in the global ranking underscores Munich Airport's strong position as an international hub. Munich Airport has consistently achieved top positions in this prestigious ranking in the past and has been named Europe's best airport several times.
Further welcome news for Munich was the Hilton Munich Airport's renewed recognition as "Best Airport Hotel in Europe." Jan-Henrik Andersson, Chief Commercial Officer of Munich Airport, praised the hotel for its spectacular architecture, outstanding service, and unique "Mountain Hub" concept. This Alpine flair is reflected in the comfortable rooms, the wellness area, and the Michelin-starred "Mountain Hub Gourmet" restaurant, contributing significantly to the high level of guest satisfaction. The World Airport Awards are considered one of the most important and prestigious awards in the aviation industry and are based on direct passenger feedback.
