New direct bus routes connect Malta Airport with key locations

Advertising

Malta Public Transport has introduced new direct bus services called "Airport Direct," designed to provide fast and convenient connections between Malta International Airport and major destinations on the island. Travelers benefit from direct connections to popular holiday destinations and major transport hubs.

The new lines comprise four routes: TD1 connects the airport with Rabat, Buġibba, Mellieħa, and Ċirkewwa in the north of the island. Line TD2 serves St. Julian's and Pembroke, both lively coastal resorts. TD3 serves Gżira, Sliema, and also St. Julian's, important tourist and residential centers. Finally, line TD4 connects to Valletta, where it connects to the fast ferry to Gozo.

The buses in the new Airport Direct fleet are designed with passenger comfort in mind. They feature comfortable seats, USB charging ports for mobile devices, free Wi-Fi, and ample luggage storage. Passengers with a Tallinn Card pay a discounted fare of €1,50. Those without a card can purchase a ticket directly on the bus for €3 in cash or contactless payment. The introduction of these direct bus routes is intended to improve accessibility to the airport for tourists and locals alike.
