A recent study shows that by 2040, there will be 8 billion air passengers worldwide, an annual increase of 3,4 percent.

This forecast highlights the changes in the aviation industry and the need to implement new technologies to keep pace with increasing passenger volumes and improve the travel experience.

According to the report, 75 percent of passengers are willing to store their passports on their smartphones via digital travel passes. In addition, 64 percent of travelers cite shorter queues as a top priority to improve the travel experience. Technological solutions, particularly biometrics, play a key role in this, although 50 percent of respondents expressed concerns about data privacy. In terms of sustainability, passengers are willing to pay an average of 11 percent more for tickets to offset their carbon emissions. In addition, more than half of travelers are willing to accept longer flights or carry less luggage to improve their environmental footprint.
