There are some new routes from Erfurt in the 2024 summer flight schedule. Furthermore, the company is increasingly establishing itself in the area of servicing commercial aircraft.

New to the flight schedule are the airlines Eurowings with flights to Mallorca, Aegean Airlines to Heraklion and Flylili to Burgas. Mavi Gök, Freebird and Air Anka will be flying regularly to the Turkish Riviera, ie Antalya, which is popular with holidaymakers. In addition, the well-known faces of holiday aviation such as Corendon Airlines and Corendon Europe will continue to connect the Thuringian state airport with holiday and special destinations. Smartwings, Sundair, Volotea and possibly other airlines will be used here as the year progresses. This year over 3 airlines are expected at Erfurt-Weimar Airport.

Airport managing director Gerd Stöwer said: “We welcome the fact that more and more airlines are interested in Erfurt-Weimar Airport and that we can therefore offer our customers a wide range of offers.” The same, Stöwer continued, also applies to the many well-known tour operators who offer their services from Erfurt this summer.

In addition to the major tourist aviation connections, other so-called business aviation aircraft fly to the state airport every day. There are also arrivals and departures in the ambulance sector and finally the flights of the Thuringia police helicopter squadron.

In addition to passenger flights, the airport is increasingly developing into an important European location for aircraft maintenance. The aircraft maintenance company HANGAR 901 Aircraft Maintenance GmbH has now rented 2 large aircraft hangars from the airport and has up to 150 employees servicing up to 5 large aircraft at the same time.

Airport managing director Gerd Stöwer said: “For us, the strategic direction clearly includes the further development of the entire location. Erfurt Airport is already much more than just an airport for holiday flights.” As a result, Stöwer continues, more and more high-quality jobs are being created at the airport.
