October 2023: Frankfurt with 5,7 million travelers

In October 2023, around 5,7 million passengers traveled through Frankfurt Airport (FRA), which corresponds to an increase of 14,9 percent compared to the same month last year. However, passenger numbers in October 2023 were still around 12 percent below the pre-pandemic level in October 2019.

Freight volume (air freight + air mail) in Frankfurt fell slightly by 2,0 percent to 173.173 tons compared to the same month last year. In contrast, flight movements rose by 14,3 percent compared to the previous year to 40.720 take-offs and landings - the highest value for a single month since October 2019. The cumulative maximum take-off weights (MTOWs) rose compared to the same month last year by 11,3 percent to around 2,5. XNUMX million tons.

Most airports in Fraport's international portfolio also continued to grow in October 2023. The Slovenian Ljubljana Airport (LJU) recorded 118.878 passengers in the reporting month, an increase of 27,8 percent compared to the same month last year. The two Brazilian airports Fortaleza (FOR) and Porto Alegre (POA) recorded a decrease of 8,2 percent to a total of 972.956 passengers. Lima Airport (LIM) in Peru counted around 1,9 million passengers, an increase of 6,4 percent. The volume of traffic at Fraport's 14 Greek regional airports rose by 10,3 percent to 3,1 million passengers in October. On the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, the twin star airports Burgas (BOJ) and Varna (VAR) welcomed a total of 167.293 passengers (minus 2,7 percent). At Antalya Airport (AYT) on the Turkish Riviera, traffic volume increased further by 2023 percent to around 9,8 million passengers in October 4,4 compared to the same month last year.
