The cargo divisions of Qatar Airways, the International Airlines Group (IAG Cargo) and MAB Kargo (MASkargo) confirmed their plans for a joint global cargo business at the Air Cargo Europe trade fair in Munich.
First announced in April 2025, the partnership now aims to officially launch by the end of 2025, subject to regulatory approval. The goal of the cooperation is to offer customers in the global air cargo market expanded route options, increased operational flexibility, and improved connectivity.
The joint venture promises optimized routing and increased capacity connecting the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Europe, and the Americas. The partnership is expected to create new connections previously inaccessible through a single booking, opening up new global trade opportunities. The initial focus will be on key freight markets, with expansion to additional countries planned in later phases following approvals.
The three participating airlines will gradually align their systems, processes, and offerings to ensure a smooth transition for their customers. The future offering will include optimized products, services, improved digital solutions, and a joint Avios loyalty program. The partners also plan to optimize their cargo and freight capacity across their respective networks and improve coordination in ground handling and trucking.
As part of their collaboration, the three companies will enter into separate agreements with the World Food Programme (WFP). As announced at Air Cargo Europe, they will jointly provide 1000 tons of free cargo capacity to support WFP in the distribution of food and relief supplies.
