Due to the war of aggression against Ukraine, the Russian authorities have imposed a flight ban on some airports in the south of the country. This is now being extended for the seventh time - this time until April 13, 2022.
A total of eleven airports would remain closed, including those in the Black Sea resort of Anapa, in Rostov-on-Don and in the city of Krasnodar, according to the aviation portal Aero. The airports of Gelendzhik, Voronezh and in Simferopol on the Ukrainian Black Sea peninsula of Crimea, which was annexed in 2014, are also still affected by airspace restrictions. The bans, which should have ended this Thursday, are said to apply until April 13, 2022. According to official information, flight operations continue in the popular tourist city of Sochi on the Black Sea. In addition to Sochi, the authorities recommended using the airports in Volgograd and Mineralnye Vody for travel to the southern regions.
