Ryanair announced on September 17, 2024 that it will be adding ten new routes from Milan Malpensa Airport starting with the next winter schedule.
The new destinations include Athens, Budapest, Paris, Fuerteventura, Krakow, Mallorca, Marrakesh, Reggio Calabria, Rzeszow and Tallinn. In addition, another aircraft will be stationed at Malpensa, which is expected to increase passenger traffic by 10% to 4,5 million annually.
At the same time, Ryanair is reducing its fleet from 24 to 20 aircraft at Milan-Bergamo, resulting in a 5% drop in seat capacity. Ryanair Group CEO Michael O'Leary highlighted the airline's investments in Italy and called for a nationwide abolition of municipal airport surcharges to enable further growth.
