Ryanair begins operations at Salerno-Costa d'Amalfi Airport

Advertising

Ryanair has announced that it will begin operations at Salerno-Costa d'Amalfi Airport in August 2024. It plans to operate 16 weekly flights on three new routes, creating over 100 local jobs.

Salerno will become the 32nd Italian airport in the Ryanair network. The new connections include flights to London Stansted, Milan Bergamo and Turin. These routes are intended to boost tourism and the economy in the Campania region and provide better connections for residents and visitors.

According to Ryanair's Chief Commercial Officer Jason McGuinness, the new routes will contribute significantly to growth in Salerno by facilitating business travel and private visits. Ryanair also plans to continue routes to Milan Bergamo and Turin in the 2024/25 winter season to ensure year-round connectivity.

Despite these positive developments in Salerno, Ryanair is forced to reduce connections to Naples due to a 30% increase in municipal and tourist taxes. Ryanair is calling on the Mayor of Naples to abolish this tax in order to maintain connections and jobs in the region.
