Ryanair is putting pressure on the German government to completely abolish the air traffic tax and significantly reduce air traffic control and security fees. The airline argues that the high costs place German air traffic at a significant disadvantage compared to other European countries.
According to Ryanair, German air traffic is currently 20 percent below pre-crisis levels, while other EU countries are already experiencing full growth. The airline attributes this to the high taxes and fees in Germany, which have increased significantly since the COVID-XNUMX crisis. Ryanair is therefore calling for a complete abolition of the air traffic tax and a halving of air traffic control and security fees to restore the competitiveness of German air traffic.
Ryanair's Andreas Gruber emphasizes that reducing costs would boost not only air traffic but also the tourism industry. He calls on the government to take decisive action to make Germany more attractive to airlines and travelers again.
