Irish airline Ryanair is expanding its operations at Klagenfurt Airport and announcing a significant capacity increase for the 2025 summer schedule. With an additional 21.000 seats on routes to Alicante, London Stansted, and Palma de Mallorca, Ryanair is targeting growth of 25 percent, corresponding to a total capacity of approximately 104.000 passengers.
Klagenfurt Airport's 2025 summer flight schedule includes a total of eight direct destinations: Vienna, London Stansted, Alicante, Palma de Mallorca, Cologne, Hanover, Hamburg, and Paros. With this expansion, the airport offers a total capacity of 250.000 seats on direct flights.
Expansion of Ryanair's offering
Ryanair has already opened bookings for the established routes from Klagenfurt to London Stansted, Alicante, and Palma de Mallorca for summer 2025. The following frequencies will be offered from April 2025:
- Alicante: Twice a week (Friday and Sunday)
- London-Stansted: Twice a week (Thursday and Sunday), all year round
- Palma de Mallorca: Up to five times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday)
This expansion represents a significant increase in service, particularly on the route to Palma de Mallorca, which was previously served three times a week.
Andreas Gruber of Ryanair expressed his delight at the additional seats and emphasized the excellent travel opportunities for Austrian guests in the coming summer season. In addition to the expanded Ryanair service, further flight connections from Klagenfurt Airport will be offered in summer 2025:
- Vienna: Austrian Airlines offers up to 13 weekly direct flights during the day.
- Cologne: Eurowings will resume two weekly flights (Monday and Friday) directly from Klagenfurt to Cologne from the beginning of May 2025.
- Hanover: SkyAlps flies twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays) directly from Klagenfurt to Hanover from May to October 2025.
- Paros: With Springer Reisen you can once again travel directly to the Greek island paradise of Paros in summer 2025.
