Ireland-based lessor SMBC Aviation Capital has placed another order with Boeing. The financial company has decided on 25 additional B737-Max-8s.

This brings the order backlog to 81 of this type. "We are pleased to complete this additional order with our long-term partner Boeing and we look forward to working closely with Boeing in the future. This transaction demonstrates our commitment to providing our customers with the most modern and fuel-efficient aircraft as they seek to achieve their own sustainability goals and reduce operating costs," said Peter Barrett, CEO of SMBC Aviation Capital. "Our customers have demonstrated clear, long-term demand for the 737 MAX and our expanded order pipeline positions SMBC Aviation Capital for future growth against the backdrop of a strong global air travel recovery."
