Salzburg Airport counted a total of 2022 passengers in the third quarter of 323.723. The months of July, August and September are traditionally considered to be particularly busy for travel. Compared to the same period of the previous year, Austria's second largest airport was able to increase significantly.

In the first nine months of the current year, 958.120 travelers used Salzburg Airport. Around 9.362 commercial flights were operated during this period. Of these, 3.008 occurred in the third quarter of 2022.

As a rule, winter business is much stronger in Salzburg, since this airport is used by many winter sports enthusiasts as a landing place. Compared to 2021, there was a significant increase in the first quarter of 2022, but the volume was significantly lower than before the corona pandemic. Salzburg has great expectations for the 2022/23 winter season, as many charters have already been registered.
