The Duisburg tour operator Schauinsland-Reisen has acquired a majority stake in the long-distance travel specialist Explorer and is thus also integrating the 30 highly qualified Explorer travel agencies into its group. This strategic partnership expands the Schauinsland-Reisen portfolio to include first-class adventure trips and decades of expertise in the long-distance building block business. Heike Niederberghaus, managing partner of Explorer, will remain in her position and will continue to work with the management of Schauinsland-Reisen to further develop the joint business area.
Known for its customized travel, Explorer has been offering customized travel experiences in 50 countries worldwide for over 71 years. The company, which started as an Africa specialist, has developed into an expert for individual long-distance travel, flexibly combining flights, hotels, tours and active holidays. Long-term collaborations with renowned hotel partners and airlines ensure high quality and first-class service.
Gerald Kassner, Managing Director of Schauinsland-Reisen, emphasizes the importance of this partnership: “Explorer's individual module program and expertise significantly expand our offering. We would like to thank Heike Niederberghaus and her team for their trusting cooperation.” Niederberghaus adds: “This partnership will be of great benefit to both us and our customers. Schauinsland-Reisen is a reliable partner for travel agencies that uses modern technology to enable individual combinations of travel components.”
