Schwerin-Parchim Airport was to become a cargo hub and hub for Chinese tourists. The project was unsuccessful and ultimately ended in bankruptcy. The proceedings could still not be concluded.
So far, the property and the buildings have not yet come under the hammer. According to local media reports, the manager Bettina Schmudde is still negotiating with several investors. The court must wait for the outcome of the proceedings.
The airport can currently even generate a small amount of income, because vehicles from a large manufacturer are parked on part of the site and are waiting for better times. The runway is also used as an automobile test track. The trustee invoices rents on behalf of the bankruptcy estate for both purposes.
