The Waldviertelbahn and the Reblaus Express will kick off the new season with a joint "Get to Know You Day" on May 1st. On this first day of operation in 2025, all passengers can travel at a reduced children's rate. Lower Austria's Minister of Transport, Udo Landbauer, emphasized the importance of these nostalgic trains as cultural assets and an attractive excursion option for families, sports enthusiasts, and railway lovers, offering a convenient and safe way to spend their free time and explore the region.

Season tickets for both lifts will also be available for frequent and regular passengers in the 2025 season. Purchases made by May 31st will receive an early bird discount of 50 percent off the regular price. NÖVOG managing directors Wolfgang Schroll and Michael Hasenöhrl also point out reduced fares for Climate Ticket holders, discounted combination tickets, and well-coordinated connecting connections designed to make it easier to switch to public transport during leisure time.

The Waldviertel Railway in northern Lower Austria offers a diverse excursion program under the motto "A Journey of Discovery for the Whole Family" until October 26th. On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, the nostalgic train (pulled by a diesel or steam locomotive) or the Golden Railcar run between Gmünd, Groß Gerungs, and Litschau. In June and September, there are additional Wednesday departures, and during the summer holidays, there are even daily connections. Bicycles are transported free of charge, but parking spaces are required. A highlight of the season is the "125 Years of Gmünd-Litschau" anniversary celebration from May 29th to June 1st, with special and photo trains and a station festival. Other attractions include the "Magic Leo" magician on June 14th and the culinary "Poppy Seed Noodle Train" on June 22nd.

The Reblaus Express, a nostalgic wine and culinary train, runs from May 1 to October 26 on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays between Retz in the Weinviertel region and Drosendorf in the Waldviertel region. During the summer holidays and on selected weekends, there are additional Friday trips. A special feature is the Heurigen carriage, in which regional winemakers offer culinary delicacies and wines. Bicycles can also be transported free of charge with prior reservation. New to the program are "Summer Evening Trips" on selected Saturdays from June to September, which invite you to a relaxing end to warm days. Combining the trip with a guided tour of Drosendorf is recommended.
