Vienna's tourism statistics for March 2025 recorded approximately 1,3 million overnight stays, a slight decline of one percent compared to the same month last year. This decline is primarily due to the early Easter holidays in March 2024, according to the Vienna Tourist Board. Looking at the year to date, Vienna recorded 3,6 million overnight stays, an increase of six percent compared to the same period last year.

Despite the slight decline in overnight stays in March, net overnight revenue from Viennese accommodation establishments rose by a remarkable 22 percent to €69,7 million in February compared to February 2024. Year-to-date, overnight revenue amounts to approximately €138,8 million, representing an increase of eleven percent. Average hotel room occupancy in March was 58 percent (March 2024: 63 percent) and bed occupancy was 44,6 percent (March 2024: 48,7 percent). Year-to-date, room occupancy was approximately 53 percent (previous year: 54 percent) and bed occupancy was 40,7 percent (previous year: 41,7 percent).

Austria leads the list of the top 10 markets year to date with 272.000 overnight stays (-6% in March), followed by Germany with 240.000 (-18% in March), Italy with 80.000 (+6% in March), and the USA with 69.000 (+5% in March). Particularly strong increases were recorded in Ukraine (+47%) and Turkey (+58%). A total of around 80.200 hotel beds were available in Vienna in March, representing a nine percent increase compared to the same month last year, with approximately 6.700 additional beds.

The figures indicate continued positive development in Vienna's tourism industry, with the increase in revenue underscoring the increased value added in the accommodation sector. The slight fluctuations in overnight stays in March are primarily due to calendar effects.
