Swiss is equipping eight A320 series jets with larger overhead bins

After Lufthansa announced last September that it would upgrade 38 of its short- and medium-haul aircraft with new luggage compartments, sister Swiss is now following suit.

The Swiss airline will install the larger shelves in three Airbus A320s and five A321s. This decision was announced by Airbus. The new Airspace L Bins promise a 60 percent increase in hand luggage space compared to previous bins. This is intended to help reduce stress for crew and passengers during boarding. The larger luggage compartments are manufactured by Airbus at EFW Elbe Flugzeugwerke in Saxony.
